Exodus
Move fundsExodus calls this operation Move Funds. It creates a transaction into your Exodus wallet rather than retaining the loose key as a normal account.
- 01
Open the Bitcoin wallet
In the official Exodus desktop or mobile app, open Bitcoin and make sure your Exodus recovery phrase is safely backed up.

Annotated official screenshot or documented workflow. Interface labels may vary by version. No real private key is shown. - 02
Choose Move Funds
Open the wallet's More or options menu, select Move Funds, and enter the compressed WIF only inside Exodus.
- 03
Confirm the transfer
Review the destination and network fee, move the full balance, and wait for a confirmation before discarding the loose key.
After the transfer
- Confirm that the destination wallet shows the transaction and can generate a new receive address.
- Do not send additional funds to the vanity address after sweeping it.
- Keep the destination wallet seed backup offline. Do not retain screenshots or clipboard history containing the WIF.
- For a direct import, send the full balance to a fresh seed-backed wallet when practical.
